What is a Mulberry tree?
The Red Mulberry is a native tree found in Minnesota.  It is different from the white, which is not native.  In June the trees bear fruit which look somewhat like raspberries.  Mulberry can be eaten fresh from the tree as a summer snack or turned into jams and jellies.  The trees are thornless and easy to pick.  Here at Mulberry Apirary we have 21 Mulberry trees. Our mulberries have some red mulberry heritage, though not pure, they produce tasty berries with some red mulberry characteristics.

Perennial edibles

100's of years ago our ancestors could not just run to the store and buy seeds.  Because of this, they relied on perennial plants or self sowing plants, to provide their foods.  Here at   Mulberry Apiary we have found our passion in these plants.  Over the years we have gathered, traded and searched down over 70 perennial edibles. It would be our pleasure to teach you about this heirloom plants and how God has blessed us with them.
