Today was a busy day of getting our zone 3 fall Back to Eden garden ready. As you can see the honey bees and painted butterflied love the garlic chives.

The cucumbers were all done. So it is time to get his bed ready for winter

The butterflies were just to pretty. so I had to stop and take a picture of them.

The pineapple ground cherry experiment has been a big success. I am very pleased with their size and flavor. I will need to start experimenting on how to preserve them for winter.

The Strawberry spinach just keeps producing. I LOVE this plant and how it comes back year after year

Above you can see the grapes didn't do so well this year. I need to multch them much thicker before winter. Below is a close up picture of some strawberry spinach

I didn't have time to weed for the last month with getting homeschooling ready. As you can see the BTEG method had almost no weeds.

I LOVE elephant head amaranth. It is an amazing grain that comes back every year.

LOL the honey bees have learned how to get water from our horizontal chicken nipples!

The Canadian strawberries are still doing well

The ever bearing raspberries are out producing us yet again

The Borage garden (number 6) as a giant experiment this year. We started this garden in July and it has benefited the honey bees immensely. And borage is so yummy!

Our barred rock chicken Zebra is out free ranging with the rest of her flock

So over all the garden is now ready for fall. I will prepare the winter garden come the end of October if we don't' have snow by then. We are looking forward to the siberian kale once the snow falls!
